The Supplies You Need for Flu Season
With cold and flu season upon us, it’s easy to feel helpless as a parent. How do we keep our kids healthy? And how do we keep them comfortable if they do catch the flu? Should they get the flu shot? What is Tamiflu? Is there anything I can do now to prepare for cold and flu season?
We teamed up with Dr. Katie at Forever Freckled to identify the supplies we need to stock up on for flu season as well as answers to some of your flu-related questions.
- Boogie Wipes® Saline Nose Wipes. The natural saline formula in Boogie Wipes Saline Nose Wipes breaks down dried, stuck-on boogers without irritation . Made with aloe, chamomile and vitamin E, these gentle saline nose wipes are an effective alternative to dry tissues
- Boogie® Saline Nasal Mist. Boogie® Saline Nasal Mist is a drug free, sterile saline mist that works quickly inside the nasal cavity to ease congestion caused by boogers that won’t budge. With Boogie® Saline Nasal Mist, you can help flush and irrigate your child’s tiny sinuses and moisturize their stuffy noses, gently and naturally providing quick relief to help your little one feel better.
- Boogie® Saline Spray + Drops. Doctors regularly recommend the use of saline nose drops to clean and clear nasal passages of infants and children. Boogie® Saline Spray + Drops is non-medicated and made with natural saline to help ease baby's congestion. The dual action tip is specially designed for controlled dropping or gentle spraying.
- Humidifier. It’s important to add moisture to your child’s room while they’re sleeping. Not only will it help to ease sore throats caused by dry winter air, it will also help to ease congestion and nighttime cough.
- Boogie Antibacterial Hand Wipes. The most important defense against cold and flu germs is keeping hands germ-free. Boogie® Antibacterial Hand Wipes gently wipe away dirt, messes and bacteria so hands stay clean. Other hand wipes contain ethyl alcohol, which can be drying and harsh on skin. Our alcohol-free* formula is free of drying alcohols, hypoallergenic and made with aloe and vitamin E to moisturize skin.
- Thermometer. A working thermometer is a must when you have kids, especially during cold and flu season.
- Fever Reducers. Kids’ Motrin and Acetaminophen in your medicine cabinet will have you prepared in case a fever hits in the middle of the night. (Be sure to consult with your pediatrician on proper dosing for your child.)
- Elderberry. If you’re not familiar with this immune-boosting syrup, be sure to ask your pediatrician for advice.
- Your Pediatrician’s Number. Go ahead and program it into your phone so you’ll always have it when you need it.
